America First Legal Investigates the Department of State, FBI, and GSA Following Bombshell Testimony that 51 Former Intelligence Officials Colluded With Secretary Antony Blinken and the Biden Campaign on a Disinformation Campaign to Interfere in the 2020 Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, America First Legal (AFL) sent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to the U.S. Department of State, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) following up on explosive testimony obtained by Chairman Jim Jordan of the House Judiciary Committee and Chairman Michael R. Turner of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence linking the letter signed by fifty-one former intelligence officials claiming that the New York Post’s publication of damning emails taken from Hunter Biden’s laptop had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation” to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the 2020 Biden Campaign.

Michael Morell, a former Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, testified to the U.S. House Judiciary Committee that on or around October 17, 2020, Biden confidant and current Secretary of State Antony Blinken contacted him to discuss the Hunter Biden laptop story. At the time, Secretary Blinken served as a senior advisor to the Biden campaign. Mr. Morell testified that Secretary Blinken “triggered” a disinformation operation to “help Vice President Biden….win the election.” The result of this call was the infamous “letter of 51” that candidate Biden used to dismiss the laptop’s evidence of corruption, and that the mainstream media, the Biden Campaign and its allies, and the intelligence community used to keep the American people in the dark. Morell further testified that following the debate, Steve Richetti, chairman of the Biden campaign, called him to thank him for his work.

America First Legal is demanding that the State Department, FBI, and GSA turn over all communications involving Secretary Blinken and his key advisors regarding Morell’s testimony. At the same time, we continue to investigate former CIA Director John Brennan, the FBI, and others regarding 2020 election interference. America First Legal will keep fighting to protect the American people’s right to know the truth.

It is a very bitter irony indeed that those most vocal about the threat of “disinformation” have now twice  run sophisticated disinformation campaigns to interfere in American elections. In 2016, the intelligence community helped the Clinton campaign create and advance the Russia collusion hoax. In 2020, Secretary Blinken and the Biden campaign used Mike Morrell – who hoped to be appointed as the CIA director – and a host of other government, media, political, and intelligence community cronies to interfere with a free and fair election by falsely discrediting and cynically burying the evidence of Joe Biden’s influence peddling. True accountability is required to protect public faith in our elections and our institutions.” said Reed Rubinstein.
