President-elect Joe Biden is reportedly considering Cindy McCain for an ambassadorship role in his administration.

McCain, the widow of the late Sen. John McCain, is being considered for the position of United States ambassador to the United Kingdom, according to multiple reports.

“It’s hers if she wants it,” a source with knowledge of the situation reportedly said. “She delivered Arizona. They know that.”

The Biden transition team did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Washington Examiner.

Mixed reactions have been pouring in from Twitter, where conservatives were critical of the move, but many liberals supported it.

“Cindy McCain to get her prize for endorsing Biden,” conservative radio host Mark Levin tweeted.

“This isn’t a bipartisan gesture,” tweeted Mike Davis, the founder of the Article III Project. “Giving @cindymccain one of the most plum diplomatic posts in the world is @JoeBiden’s political payback for her vindictive support of his campaign, especially in Arizona.”

McCain is widely credited for playing a key role in Biden’s victory in Arizona, although President Trump’s legal team has contested those results.

McCain appeared in a campaign ad for Biden late in the 2020 election cycle, slamming the president over an anonymously sourced report that he disparaged members of the military.
