Defending The Republic

Dear Patriot,
Good news today is overwhelmed by the news coming from hurricane ravaged states. There are details coming out and it is worse than you can imagine. The federal government, under Biden and Harris, has not responded adequately. It is a lesson for all… you can not depend on the government. We must be prepared to take care of ourselves and those around us.
Mayorkas announced that FEMA is out of money. We have enough money to take care of Ukraine and all the illegals but not our own people in NC, SC, GA, FL.
The good news is that many people are helping. In every weather disaster, the one constant is that people work together to provide real assistance to one another. If you have been through a hurricane, tornado, or fire, you know what we are talking about.
We have been told that by people who are helping in NC now that it may be a good thing the government is not involved. Churches, neighbors, the Baptist men, and Samaritans Purse are stepping up. The government seems to get in the way.
Please continue to share information. The State Run Media is not reporting on almost every item we mention in this newsletter. Voters need to know that the current administration is a dismal failure on all things that might help citizens.
1- Whew….one crisis has been postponed for few months!
Dockworkers’ Union to Suspend Strike
QUOTE: The union representing 45,000 striking U.S. dockworkers at East and Gulf coast ports has reached a deal to suspend their strike until Jan. 15 to provide time to negotiate a new contract, a person briefed on the matter says.
The union, the International Longshoremen’s Association, is to resume working immediately at least until January said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the agreement has yet to be signed.
The agreement will allow the union and the U.S Maritime Alliance, which represents the shippers and ports, time to negotiate a new six-year contract. The person also said both sides reached agreement on wage increases, but details weren’t available.
The union went on strike early Tuesday after its contract expired in a dispute over pay and the automation of tasks at the ports from Maine to Texas. The strike came at the peak of the holiday shopping season at 36 ports that handle about half the cargo from ships coming into and out of the United States.
2- In the days of all of our technological wonders, we love that these dear mules are working to help pack supplies to those still trapped.
Mountain Mules Are Bringing Hope to Appalachia
QUOTE: A pack of mules and the Cajun Navy 2016 are bringing food, water, medicine, and hope to the mountains of Western North Carolina. Immediately after Hurricane Helene ravaged a huge swath of the Southeast on Thursday and Friday, the pros at Mountain Mule Packer Ranch in Mount Ulla, North Carolina, sprang into action.
“They call them beasts of burden, we call them our beloved mules,” the group posted on Facebook, introducing the pack, whose names include Vader, Lil Wayne, Jeb, Max, and Smokie. “They are capable and willing to work in many conditions most won’t. They are not stubborn…they are wise, and require respect. They have had many roles in their careers, from hauling camping gear and fresh hunt, pulling wagons and farm equipment; to serving in training the best of the very best of our military special forces, carrying weapons, medical supplies, and even wounded soldiers.”
Emergency supplies have been arriving to washed-out portions of Western North Carolina by private and military helicopters, and a C-17 with relief supplies from FEMAlanded yesterday in Asheville. But entire mountain communities are unreachable—except perhaps by sure-footed mules.
“One of the first families helped yesterday was in desperate need of insulin, and Mountain Mule Packers was able to get it up this otherwise impassable road,” the Cajun Navy 2016 shared.
Another story of a person reached: Sarah Haynie had fled her home in Swannanoa to reach her parents in Black Mountain. She was outside with her family, surrounded by downed limbs and debris, when a member of the Cajun Navy 2016 approached. “They walked up through the trees that had fallen over our driveway and asked if we needed food or water. And then they saw my two boys,” Haynie says. The volunteers returned with a chainsaw to start clearing the downed trees, and stuffed bears for each child.
“My boys lost all of their toys in the flood, we lost everything,” Haynie says. “The only thing they have are the clothes that they left in.” The volunteers handed Haynie $40 in cash, bottled water, and bags of food. “He told me he noticed our spot up on Ruth Street because his grandmother’s name was Ruth. As he was leaving, he had tears in his eyes and said, ‘This one’s for grandma.’”
Both the Mountain Mule Facebook page and Cajun Navy 2016 Facebook page are posting updates about how to support them best.
3- While you are praying, thank God for Elon Musk.
He is about to save our astronauts when the federal government failed to do so.
He is providing vital communications for FREE with Starlink to people whose cellphone no longer work. The Biden Regime is trying to take credit for this but, it was all Trump and Elon
He has also, at GREAT expense, provided the world with a method of obtaining news from the ground up instead of propaganda pushed down from State Run Media, all while fighting for free speech. Twitter/X is the only way we are currently getting true information from the areas hit by the hurricane. If you are not on Twitter/X get on that today!
Thank you God for Elon. He is a warrior. Please keep him strong.
By the way, this chart is why The Deep State and State Run Media hate Elon and are threatening him with lawfare.
4- ALERT for Georgia citizens:
Monday, October 7, is the last day to register to vote.
Check to make sure you are registered and get everyone in your orbit to register this weekend.
5- Hours after Scott Presler announced this on Twitter/X, the hours were “quietly” changed to after midnight, when maintenance is normally conducted. Stay alert and shout it out if you see things that do not appear quite right.
COINCIDENCE? Pennsylvania Schedules ‘System Maintenance’ on Voter Registration Website on Same Day as Trump’s Return to Butler – Scott Presler Responds
QUOTE: Pennsylvania’s Department of State has scheduled “system maintenance” on its voter application website, coincidentally on the same day as Donald Trump’s return to the town in which he was nearly assassinated.
“The website will undergo scheduled system maintenance and be unavaliable Saturday, 5th October from 6pm until 12am,” the voter registration website reads. “We thank you for your understanding.”
Grassroots activist Scott Presler, who is among those leading the efforts to secure Pennsylvania for Donald Trump next month, pointed out the coincidence on the X platform.
“The [Pennsylvania Department of State] voter registration website will be unavailable on Saturday, October 5th,the day that President Trump will be triumphantly returning to the site of the assassination attempt in Butler County, PA,” Presler wrote. “[With] all eyes on PA, the site will be down. Coincidence?”
Presler later suggested that authorities are engaging in “election interference by scheduling voter registration maintenance during the day that President Trump is having a rally in Butler.”
After coming within inches of being killed back in July, Trump will make a triumphant return to the town of Butler as he seeks to shore up support in possibly the most important swing state in the upcoming election. However, Trump will also inevitably have to overcome some margin of voter fraud in order to defeat Kamala Harris, particularly in Pennsylvania where Democratic authorities are actively engaged in election rigging and skullduggery such as this.

Firefighters Union Snubs Kamala Harris with Non-Endorsement After JD Vance Speech at Convention
QUOTE: The International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) has snubbed the Harris-Walz ticket with a non-endorsement — news which comes after Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) spoke at their event in August.
IAFF President Edward Kelly made the announcement on Thursday following an executive board meeting, where the determination was made.
“Today, the IAFF Executive Board, by a margin of 1.2 percent, voted to not endorse a candidate in the 2024 presidential election,” he announced, noting that IAFF took “unprecedented steps to hear out members’ views on the candidates and the policy issues that matter most to them” over the last year.
This non-endorsement comes as a huge blow to the Harris-Walz ticket; the union endorsed President Biden prior to the 2020 presidential election.
The IAFF’s non-endorsement comes as another devastating blow for Harris, particularly in light of the Teamsters — representing over one million union workers — also refusing to endorse. That non-endorsement coincided with polling taken of Teamsters members, showing that most, nearly 60 percent, support Trump, compared to 34 percent who support Harris.

Far right wins Austria election, boosting European right-wing surge
QUOTE: Austrian voters handed a first-ever general election victory to the far-right Freedom Party on Sunday, preliminary results showed, illustrating rising support for hard-right parties in Europe fueled by concern over immigration levels.
The Eurosceptic, Russia-friendly FPO held a slim lead in opinion polls for months over Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s ruling conservative Austrian People’s Party (OVP) in a campaign dominated by immigration and worries about the economy.
Led by the 55-year-old Herbert Kickl, the FPO won 28.8% of the vote, ahead of the OVP on 26.3%, and the centre-left Social Democrats on 21.1%, according to a projection based on nearly all the vote by pollster Foresight for broadcaster ORF, a slightly bigger victory margin than final polls had indicated.
“We’ve made Austrian history because it’s the first time the Freedom Party is Number 1 in a parliamentary election, and you have to think how far we’ve come,” Kickl said after the party’s record showing, which came seven decades after its foundation in the 1950s under the leadership of a former Nazi lawmaker.
Kickl’s win was hailed by hard-right parties across Europe, where the far-right has made gains in countries including the Netherlands, France and Germany. That growing support could stoke the risk of divisions inside the European Union over key policy areas like the defense of Ukraine against Russia.
8- We have become big fans of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. She recently gave a speech about America, which we are sharing an excerpt of here.
Italy’s Giorgia Meloni: Why the West Is Worth Defending
The Italian prime minister insists that decline is not inevitable.
QUOTE: The Free Press: Giorgia Meloni might just be the most interesting leader on the world stage right now.
Not long ago the Italian prime minister was a fringe figure: the head of a small political party called the Brothers of Italy, which has its roots in the country’s postwar neo-fascist movement. But in the seemingly permanent turmoil of Italian politics, Meloni emerged as the leading right-populist in the country. After the right-wing coalition she led won a majority in 2022, she became the first woman to serve as Italy’s prime minister.
Last week, Meloni was named this year’s “Global Citizen,” an award handed out by the Atlantic Council, an avowedly liberal, internationalist, and establishment think tank. If you want to understand why Meloni has so many fans, look no further than the speech she gave when accepting the award, which we are publishing in full below. (You can also watch the video version at the bottom of this page.) We’re printing this speech because it is a distillation of an important and interesting leader’s worldview—and because it offers the kind of clarity missing from the words of so many contemporary leaders.
Excerpt of Meloni speech: President Reagan once said, “Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenal of the world, is so formidable as the will and the moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today’s world do not have.”
I couldn’t agree more. Our freedom and our values, and the pride we feel for them, are the weapons our adversaries fear the most. So we can’t give up the strength of our own identity, for that would be the best gift we can make to authoritarian regimes.
So, at the end of the day, patriotism is the best response to declinism.
Defending our deep roots is the precondition for reaping ripe fruit. Learning from our past mistakes is the precondition for being better in the future.
I will also use the words of Giuseppe Prezzolini, perhaps the greatest conservative intellectual in twentieth-century Italy: “He who knows how to conserve is not afraid of the future, because he has learned the lessons of the past.”
We know how to face the impossible challenges that this era confronts us with only when we learn from the lessons of the past. We defend Ukraine, for we have known the chaos of a world in which the law of the strongest prevails. We fight human traffickers because we remember that, centuries ago, we fought to abolish slavery. We defend nature and humankind, because we know that without the responsible work of humans it is not possible to build a more sustainable future.
As we develop artificial intelligence, we attempt to govern its risks because we fought to be free and we do not intend to trade our freedom in exchange for greater comfort. We know how to read these phenomena because our civilization has given us the tools.
The time we live in requires us to choose what we want to be and what path we want to take. We can continue to fuel the idea of the decline of the West; we can surrender to the idea that our civilization has nothing more to say, no more routes to chart.
Or we can remember who we are, learn also from our mistakes, add our own piece of the story to this extraordinary walk, and govern what happens around us, to leave our children a better world. Which is exactly my choice. And I like to think that the reason why you have chosen me for this precious award, is that you share this choice.

Netflix Users Cancel After Reed Hastings Donates to Kamala
QUOTE: Say goodbye to another tough week in Hollywood. Disney cut about 300 jobs. Paramount implemented its second round of layoffs in the last few weeks. And John Malone, the godfather of cable, said streaming is a crappy business.
Netflix suffered a surge in cancellations in the days after its co-founder and chairman, Reed Hastings, endorsed Kamala Harris for president and donated millions to her campaign.
The rate of cancellations – churn in industry parlance – nearly tripled in the US after his endorsement, according to the researcher Antenna. The streaming giant has the lowest churn in the industry.
Customers in the US canceled Netflix at a higher rate in July — 2.8% — than any month since February. That is largely due to the company’s decision to phase out its basic tier. Basic was the cheapest advertising-free version of Netflix. But the five-day period after Hastings’ endorsement was unusual, even for July.
Hastings, a longtime Democratic donor, endorsed Harris in a post on the social media platform X on July 22. A day later, Hastings told The Information that he donated $7 million to a pro-Harris super PAC. Shortly after Hastings’ endorsement, fans of Donald Trump began urging people to drop the service. Some posted photos showing they had closed their accounts alongside the hashtag #CancelNetflix. Three days later after the donation became public, July 26, was the single worst day for Netflix cancellations this year.
10- It already seems like the VP Debate was a month ago instead of three days ago. That is because so much happens everyday.
Everything you need to know about the debate between Walz and Vance is discussed here and many more subjects. This is a good podcast to listen to over the weekend.
We agree with Tucker’s opening general description of senators and Mike Lee specifically.

Western North Carolina Apocalypse: My Thoughts and Prayer
QUOTE: In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them…Isaiah 63:9
My heart is broken. My tears unending. My mind reeling from the images coming out of Western North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene. The destruction is beyond belief!
So many of you have written, texted, emailed and called to express your heartfelt concern and prayers. Thank you!
Invariably I’m being asked, “How is your family?” “How is your father’s house?” Everyone of my family who live in the area have been accounted for. My father’s house, as I understand, is intact, although the road to it is impassable.
The town of Montreat where I grew up, and which I still consider “home,” has no power, food, water, or internet. The roads are washed away. People cannot get in or out. The town where my sister lives, Black Mountain, is underwater. In pictures, I can just see the top of the train station roof above the flood waters…the same train station where we used to meet Daddy when he came home from his trips. The town where I went to high school, Swannanoa, has virtually been erased. Eradicated. It is no more. The village of Biltmore where my mother loved to go for lunch, and where I still take my daughters and granddaughters, has been virtually destroyed by flood waters that went as high as fifteen to 20 feet. Boone, where my brother lives, has been underwater also, with no food, water, power or cell service. And those are only the places I am familiar with. I can’t imagine people in Georgia, Tennessee, and the mountain coves where people are tucked away and may not be located for a long time. Everyone cut off without power, cell service, food, drinkable water, medicines, baby formula, and the list goes on. God have mercy on us! While FEMA and the government have been absent, my brother’s organization, Samaritan’s Purse, has an army of volunteers on the ground, as well as helicopters in the air. I encourage you to volunteer or donate to Samaritan’s Purse and designate it for Western North Carolina.
Psalm 29:10 has been emblazoned on my mind. The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever. I know He is in charge. He is in control. He could have contained this flood. If He is Lord over it, why didn’t He? This is one of those times when I simply bow to His sovereignty and trust Him when I have no answers to “why.” But I cling to what His word says: Many waters cannot quench love, nor can floods drown it. I know God loves the people of Western North Carolina. I am one of them. So I claim His promise in Psalm 29:11: The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.
