Distraught over maskless flights, libs and journalists devolve into dramatic meltdown
A federal judge in Florida ruled against the Biden administration’s mandatory mask mandate for air travelers on Monday and most of the major airlines wasted little time scrapping mask requirements. Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, American Airlines and Alaska Airlines were among the airliners announcing that masks are now optional for travelers.
U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle concluded in a 59-page ruling that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mask requirement “exceeded the Useless CDC statutory authority,” saying the mandate was “arbitrary and capricious.”
In some cases, passengers were informed midflight and for many it was a moment of pure bliss. For others, it didn’t go quite so well:

We as a nation are fucking hellbound to destroy ourselves. We are addicted to self-destruction — all at the behest of the corporations and politicians who will gladly use our bodies as firewood. https://t.co/MxPlXtLOYa

Some of the left took the lifting of a mask mandate particularly hard, as seen from Dr. Jeremy Samuel Faust, an emergency physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an instructor at Harvard Medical School.
According to the god doctor, babies and small children — those least at risk with COVID-19 — are now going to die:
Thanks @united.
The idea of not waiting until “vaccine for all” (including kids under 5) is pretty much you just saying it’s cool if a few kids die so that you don’t have to enforce this for another month or two. https://t.co/mMfd0i5smK

The odd thing about my being disappointed in @united dropping its mask mandate is how many people who claim to love kids are totally cool with this meaning that a small number of babies will die of Covid, when we’re weeks away from a vaccinate for all ages over 6 months.

Even the liberal media got in on the handwringing, as seen from New York Times reporter Maggie Astor, who fretted in a tweet: “I can’t stop thinking about people who may have chosen to book and board this flight based on a personal risk assessment that involved everyone being masked. And then, MIDFLIGHT, when it was physically impossible to leave, that element of their risk assessment was upended.”

From PBS’s Geoff Bennett to Daily Beast columnist Wajahat Ali, the distraught was obvious:
The judge behind this mask ruling — Kathryn Kimball Mizelle — was the tenth Trump judicial nominee to be rated “not qualified” by the American Bar Association. https://t.co/wIZxTQja1O

It’s a pro-death movement. Sigh. https://t.co/YcGNzhG8tg

However, few were as hypocritical as Slate senior writer Mark Joseph Stern, who moaned about how our legal system is “badly broken.”
Try explaining to your friends in other liberal democracies that a single unelected, life-tenured, 35-year-old judge just abolished the air travel mask mandate for the entire country.
No peer nation would tolerate such a power-drunk juristocracy. Our system is badly broken.

This being the same journo who celebrated the court striking down a Trump-era ban on travel from a select number of Muslim-majority countries due to terrorism concerns, which was dishonestly portrayed by liberals as a “Muslim ban.”
“Trump’s Muslim ban was blocked by four bad-ass female judges. The judiciary grabs back,” Stern triumphed at the time.
Meanwhile, those on the right were quick to note the questionable effectiveness of masks and the double standard at play here from the liberal media:
Covid exposed many things, but one of the most significant was just how atrocious many people are at risk analysis. And it feels like many of the worst risk analyzers in the world are left wing “journalists.”

How are they supposed to be visually separated from the peasant class if just anyone can be maskless??

1) No one is preventing you or your family from wearing a mask.
2) Transmission on airplanes is incredibly low.
3) Why did you make that assumption given that the federal mask mandate was set to expire today up until last week? https://t.co/a2VzmKUZE5
