Almost 160 celebrities were featured as signatories in a Friday Planned Parenthood advertisement against the likely overturn of Roe v. Wade after a draft Supreme Court opinion leaked early this month indicated the possible overturn.

Planned Parenthood teamed up with the singers, actors, and models to take out a full-page advertisement in the New York Times.

WHY ARE SO MANY COMPANIES IN FAVOR OF ABORTION?

The list of stars includes Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Noah Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Finneas, Camila Cabello, Demi Lovato, Megan Thee Stallion, Camila Mendes, Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Liza Koshy, Meghan Trainor, Melanie Martinez, Paramore, Hailee Steinfeld, Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, the Aces, and over 100 more.

Most of the celebrities are young, calling themselves “the new generation stepping into our power.”

“Now we are being robbed of our power,” the advertisement continued.

“Our power to plan our own futures and control our own bodies depends on our ability to access sexual and reproductive health care, including abortion,” the page read. “We will not go back — and we will not back down.”

The petition comes two days after the Women’s Health Protection Act failed to advance after receiving less than 50 votes in its favor in the Senate. Senators voted nearly completely along party lines, with only Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) voting against it.

One of the signatories, singer Phoebe Bridgers, revealed in early May that she had an abortion as recently as October 2021 in a post on her social media platforms. Bridgers, 27, has been with Irish actor Paul Mescal since 2020 and got engaged this year.
