A big win
Fellow American,
In the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District (PRJUSD) in California, dedicated and determined parents have scored a big win to reclaim their children’s schools from Critical Race Theory (CRT).
Thanks to the tireless efforts of parents and community members, the school board recently passed a resolution clearly and unequivocally banning the teaching of CRT.
The resolution lays out a clear argument against Critical Race Theory, including that:
- Racism has no place in American society
- CRT is an ideology based on false assumptions about the founding of the United States
- CRT violates the fundamental principle of equal protection under the law
In conclusion, the resolution states, “Critical Race Theory is rejected and will not constitute the basis for any instruction in the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District.”
Parents Defending Education applauds the parents and community members who worked tirelessly to get this resolution passed, and the school board members who voted to support it.
Superintendent Curt Dubost described the events leading up to the meeting, saying: “I’ve been doing this for over 40 years and this is the most contested, difficult time I have faced.”
Passing a resolution like this isn’t easy — but the actions of the parents and school board of the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District show that it is possible.
And it is critical to making sure our children’s education is based on scholarship and facts, and nurtures their development into the happy, resilient, free-thinking, educated citizens every democracy needs.
So thank you for standing with Parents Defending Education as we support parent groups like Paso Robles’s to reclaim our schools from activists imposing harmful agendas.
