We are a nation of law and order and it’s time to start acting like it.

Look no further than the police officer in Fairfax County, Virginia that was suspended for contacting immigration authorities after discovering a motorist involved in a car accident skipped his deportation court hearing. Was he supposed to let someone violating federal law go? Choosing this route would only encourage those violating our immigration laws to continue doing so.

While these heroes get dressed every morning and prepare to serve their community, politicians like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the radical parts of the Democratic Party advocate for lawlessness and engage in hateful rhetoric that only endangers the lives of those protecting us. Comparing our immigration process to the likes of concentration camps is ludicrous and does nothing to help solve the problem. The hysteria spawned by her rhetoric is solely responsible for someone trying to firebomb a Washington state ICE facility. And instead of owning up to what she’s doing, she continues to shirk responsibility. At some point, AOC has to realize pouring gasoline on a fire may get you retweets, but isn’t a solution.

There is no problem with people wanting to immigrate to the greatest nation on earth. I served in the Marine Corps with people who did so, and they are some of the greatest Americans I have ever known. But the madness must end.

I’ve worked firsthand with various government agencies and the intelligence community as a strategic management, analytic, and policy advisor. I’ve seen the immigration process in action, and I can assure you it’s a mess. For too long, Congress has kicked the can down the road and declined to take up any true immigration reform. But what can we expect when the far-left wants to allow people to cross our border without consequence? Are we supposed to sit by while the radical fringe figures of the Democrat Party advocate for a globalist agenda that will strip America of it’s borders and sovereignty? Those aren’t the ideas and values that I and Marines across our nation enlisted to defend.

But the lawless Democrats continue to bolster the idea that people who enter our country illegally shouldn’t be punished for violating our laws. The Chief of Police for Fairfax County condemned the officer simply for adhering to the laws of our country. It’s almost as if the lunacy of the democratic party has made its way into the bureaucracy of our police departments. Imagine you’re a police officer and your superior tells you you’re not allowed to arrest someone for breaking the law because they don’t want to make headlines. How much longer are we supposed to allow these ridiculous practices to hinder the ability of law enforcement officers to protect us?

Democrats are only injecting hateful rhetoric and false information into the national spotlight in order to advance an agenda that the majority of Americans don’t agree with. They need to be held accountable.
