Cindy Grosz: Why Defund Police Unions & Not Teacher’s Unions
We Don’t Speak Enough About the Murders of Blacks in Dangerous Cities like Chicago
It was a couple of months ago that New Yorkers were praising our law enforcement while public school teachers were the most ill prepared to educate students of all ages as everyone was in quarantine during the height of illness and death of COVID-19.
Suddenly social distancing vanished as millions peacefully protest and and a smaller number loot as a reaction to the murder of George Floyd.
Make no mistake, Floyd was murdered, and as the of the evidence becomes public, we will find out much more about Floyd’s death. If you follow Judge Jeannine Pirro, she has shared the most factual, honest information of what we all think. It was premeditated after two minutes, and therefore it should be a murder ONE case in front of a jury.
We don’t speak enough about the murders everyday of blacks in Chicago or the unprovoked murders of police officers attacked during their hours of service.
In one month, we went from horn-plowing thank you drive by appreciation parades to stabbing, brutality beating and killing cops.
As a teacher, I made the ultimate sacrifice for black children, their families and their community. I exposed criminal activity, physical and emotional abuse by administration related to innocent students and safety procedures deliberately ignored and not reported as mandated by law. I sued in Court. My reward, a falsified counter suit, for breaking retaliation laws and a unlawful termination. Remember, this is the same judicial system that now allows illegal immigrants, looters and those who willfully desecrate historic landmarks to go free.
Now, I am running for Congress. I have been endorsed by Rev. Darrell Scott, CEO of both the National Diversity Coalition for Trump and the Urban Revitalization Coalition. I have also been endorsed by Kiron Skinner, Former Director of Policy Planning, Senior Advisor to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Director and Taube Professor, Institute for Politics and Strategy.
I have long term relationships with many of the Republican Black congressional candidates including Burgess Owens in Utah and Kathy Barnette in Pennsylvania.
And, I have been a contributor every Wednesday morning on the radio show Battle4Freedom, hosted and created by a Black Conservative man who has endorsed my campaign. You can hear us anytime through iHeart Radio or iTunes.
Now, I am being asked about “Black Lives Matter.”
Black Lives Matter has a history of supporting the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement) and support Palestinian propaganda against Israel, including calling Israel responsible for “genocide.” Black Lives Matter has been criticized for not supporting Black law enforcement or women or Blacks who lean towards preferring republican or conservative issues. They also are endorsed by J Street and the Anti-Defamation League, plus smaller left-wing social justice groups. BLM is just the latest group of many that Democrats have used through the years to fight for “their” rights. Has it really worked in the failing cities of Baltimore or Chicago?
Black Lives Matter claims to support peace. They defend themselves as taking advantage of the First Amendment rights, Freedom of Speech. I totally support our constitutional and civic rights. However, they also incite fear in their promotion, and there is a fine line that goes along the lines of Free Speech, Peaceful Support and Igniting Fear and Violence?
Why are these BLM supporters so easily influenced?
Public schools were the least prepared during Coronavirus to set up teaching environments, cohesive lessons and in places like New York, there are many unanswered questions as to how much accountability can be placed on lessons taught. Mayor DeBlasio and his team want to lower the success/failure curve to an even smaller bar than before. Everyone gets a “free pass.”
Because they are the victims of the public schools that think educational environments that are supposed to build self esteem and independence are no more than expensive babysitting centers, food banks and lessons filed with propaganda. Why is it more important to teach 6-year-olds descriptive sexual acts rather than civic law?
President Trump ran during his first campaign to either downsize or eliminate the Department of Education and let governors run schools. I can’t trust Gavin Newson or Andrew Cuomo, but downsizing doesn’t sound so bad. Budgets need to be examined. How much money is wasted. Here are some good starts. Stop buying textbooks that refuse to have the facts printed in them. One example is that “Radical Islamic Terrorists” were the people responsible for planning September 11, 2001, killing almost 3000 innocent Americans. Or, sharing maps of the Middle East that don’t include a state of Palestine and have no picture of the state of Israel.
What about the money spent on lunches? We need oversight on who actually needs lunch, and who is taking advantage of “the system.” And, from my experience, why should a principal of a school who made a plea bargain and admitted guilt for stealing money from HUD, one government agency, be allowed to return to her school job, get full salary and benefits and retire? Unfortunately, this staff person was not the only one with a “questionable “ record retiring with a six-figure future at the expense of our children.
The teacher’s union supports and endorses Black Lives Matter, encourages “Take A Knee” and stands with “The Squad.”
The police unions don’t. Remember when BLM marched and chanted “Kill The Pigs.” And when did the series of these series of riots start? During the Obama Administration after Obama made negative remarks about police.
The head of a law enforcement advocacy group lashed out at President Barack Obama after the Dallas shootings that left five police officers dead, in July, 2016.
“I think [the Obama administration] continued appeasements at the federal level with the Department of Justice, their appeasement of violent criminals, their refusal to condemn movements like Black Lives Matter, actively calling for the death of police officers, that type of thing, all the while blaming police for the problems in this country has led directly to the climate that has made Dallas possible,” said William Johnson, the executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations.
But the Obamas love the teachers unions.
In fact, in July 2019, 07/11/2019, the American Federation of Teachers announced a partnership with Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote initiative. We know who they are working with, and it’s not Trump Republicans or Conservatives.
Let’s teach the police a lesson, we support law of the land and we support you. Let’s give the teacher’s unions a homework assignment. Figure out why so many black parents are choosing charter and private schools, or homeschooling as their choice for educating their children.
