Claudine Gay Blames ‘Racial Animus’ For Backlash That Forced Her Resignation

Actually, you’ll only need one. It’s the same reason any radical leftist thinks any non-white person gets canned, criticized, or called out for anything, ever: raaaaaaacism.

True story. Gay announced her resignation Monday on the heels of fresh plagiarism allegations and a history of allowing hate groups to spew violent anti-Semitic garbage on campus, saying in a statement that following a meeting with the school’s governing board, “it has become clear that it is in the best interests of Harvard for me to resign so that our community can navigate this moment of extraordinary challenge with a focus on the institution rather than any individual.”

Like, say an individual with a storied habit of copying and pasting other people’s work and trying to pass it off as your own.

But she couldn’t just stop there. Nope – Gay here went on to blame “racial animus” for the wave of backlash that prompted her kinda-not-really-voluntary ouster.

“It has been distressing to have doubt cast on my commitments to confronting hate and to upholding scholarly rigor—two bedrock values that are fundamental to who I am—and frightening to be subjected to personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus,” she went on, apparently willfully blind to all the “racial animus” against Jewish students that she allowed to run wild on Harvard’s campus.

Where was that concern over “racial animus”when she was telling Congress that anti-Semitic threats may not necessarily constitute as harassment? Where was it when she couldn’t say that calling for the death of the Jews violated Harvard’s anti-harassment policy? Where was it when Jewish students were being accosted on campus, with zero consequences for their assailants?

It’s a shame Gay never had to rip off anyone’s opinions on basic human decency and principles. Maybe they’d have sunk in.
