Insanity: New WOKE Yelp Feature Tells Users Which Businesses Require Proof of Vax
There’s a new form of COVID control — a Yelp search. Yelp introduced a new woke filter that allows consumers to identify and visit businesses that refuse potential customers who have not received a vaccination. The company will even prevent customers from posting reviews that complain about the requirements.
The business review company disclosed in a recent blog that “Yelp is announcing two new, free attributes – ‘Proof of vaccination required’ and ‘All staff fully vaccinated,’” that businesses can add to their profiles. The platform claimed the new features were designed “[t]o help consumers understand how a business is currently operating as pandemic guidelines continue to evolve.”
Yelp said that consumers will be able to use the new identifications to filter search results when looking for establishments that require staff or customers to be vaccinated. The new search and identity features are an addition to other woke attribute options already on the platform. For example, Yelp offers attribute options like “Masks required,” “Staff wears masks,” “Black-owned, “Latinx-owned,” “Asian-Owned,” “LGBTQ-owned” and “Woman-owned.” The company appears to support the idea of segregation in an effort to push the far left’s woke victimhood narrative. Yelp, however, does not offer users the ability to find Christian-owned businesses or those that support conservative causes like the pro-life movement.
The company also told users that it will monitor reviews for businesses that use the new identifiers to avoid what it calls “review bombing” incidents which might cause “reputational harm.” Yelp’s “COVID Content Guidelines” forbid reviewers from offering “[c]riticism of the safety measures a business is taking” with regard to mask and vaccination requirements. “In 2021, we’ve removed nearly 8,000 reviews for violating these guidelines,” wrote Yelp. By comparison, the platform reported that less than 400 reviews were removed for criticizing the labels unrelated to COVID-19.
Unsurprisingly, Yelp seemed unconcerned about “reputational harm” when it allowed reviewers to label businesses as racist. Yelp tweeted last October that it saw a “clear need to warn consumers about businesses associated with egregious, racially-charged actions to help people make more informed spending decisions.” Yelp introduced at the time the absurd “Business Accused of Racist Behavior alert” to remedy the so-called problem.

MRC #FreeSpeechAmerica Reader,
Never before have a few companies had the ability to silence the entire conservative movement. Now, a handful of tech companies can censor both the people and the ideals of the right through a dangerous combination of computer programs and deliberate censorship.
This is why #FreeSpeechAmerica, a program of the MRC exists—to defend conservative speech online and expose efforts by top tech companies and their employees to silence conservative voices with Orwellian speech controls. We are part of the only organization purely dedicated to this critical mission and we need your help to fuel this fight.
Donate today to help #FreeSpeechAmerica continue its fight. $25 a month goes a long way in the fight for a free and fair media—which includes social media.
