Pres. Trump Slams Media During Coronavirus Briefing: ‘Be Nice – Don’t Be Threatening’
President Trump during a contentious press briefing in the White House Rose Garden Sunday evening slammed the media for being overwhelmingly negative about his administration’s efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
When asked by PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor to respond to a remark he made on Fox News’ “Hannity” earlier this week that he believes some governors might not need all of the equipment they are requesting, Trump replied, “Why don’t you act a little more positive?”
“It’s always to trying to getcha – getcha, getcha. That’s why nobody trusts the media anymore,” he said.
“Look, let me tell you something: Be nice. Don’t be threatening,” the President added.
“How is that going to impact how you fill these orders for ventilators or for masks?” Alcindor asked.
“We have everybody in the White House working on it,” Trump replied. “We have everybody in the country working on this in one way or another. The fact is, we’ve done a great job in delivering.”
He continued, “But just so you know, you, me, everybody, we’re all on the same team.”
