Levin: Dems Impeaching Now to Cripple Trump From Making Another SCOTUS Pick

Conservative talk-radio host and best selling author Mark Levin said that one of the reasons why the House Democrats are impeaching President Trump so quickly is because they want to cripple him from being able to select another justice for the Supreme Court, either in the last 12 months of his term or even if he is reelected to a second term.
The reasoning, as raised by one of Levin’s neighbors in a conversation, is that should an opening on the high court occur in the near future, the Democrats can refuse to vote for any justice selected by an “impeached president.”
This will be reinforced by the liberal media, who despise the president, and the Democrats can carry their reasoning into a second term, if Trump is reelected; the impeached Trump, who apparently has no concern for the Constitution, according to liberals, is not competent to select SCOTUS candidates.
Levin explained the idea during his Dec. 15 radio broadcast.
“A neighbor of mine came up to me … and said something that was quite profound,” said Levin. “He said to me, ‘I’m convinced one of the reasons they’re impeaching the president is the Supreme Court.’ I said, really? What do you mean by that?”
“’Well, the president has less than 11 months to go,'” Levin imparted from his neighbor. “‘Ruth Bader Ginsburg appears to be very ill.’ (He’s not wishing anything terrible; he’s just saying what he sees.)”

Levin continued, “‘Should she have to leave the bench, by hook or by crook, they want to be able to say that not only will we not allow this president or, for that matter, any Supreme Court Justice in the remaining — whatever number of months — of his presidency, but we will never allow an impeached president to appoint anybody else to the Supreme Court, whether he wins reelection or not.'”
“You see what he’s saying?” said Levin in reference to his neighbor. “Isn’t that interesting? And I’ll bet he’s right. I’ll bet that’s part of the calculation.”

“That they want to claim that they’ve crippled this lawless president, that the Republicans wouldn’t remove him from office, and there is no way that the Democrats will ever agree to him making another Supreme Court appointment, either in the next 11 months or, as I say, should he get re-elected and in the four years subsequent to his first term,” said Levin.
“That’s clearly one of the reasons they’re trying to do this,” he added.
