Mike Fricilone (R) Candidate for Congress 3rd District Chicago, IL

Hi. I’m Mike Fricilone. And I’m running for Congress in the Third District of Illinois because I’m tired of politicians lying to the public. They promise anything to help them get them elected and then they follow their own agenda, staying in office way too long. That is the case with the incumbent for the district, Representative Daniel Lipinski (D). He has been in office since 2005, and before that, his father (Bill Lipinski, also a Democrat) served from 1983 until the moment he handed the reins over to his son. I think it’s time for that family to give up their seat!

I was born in the inner city of Chicago. My father was a company man his entire life making tools and die, except for the duration of World War 2, where he served in Europe under General Patton. My Mom stayed home making sure my five brothers and sisters were cared for and made it through our school years. My parents moved to Garfield Ridge just as I was starting school. Byrne Elementary and Kinzie U.G.C. were where I spent my elementary school years, and I prepped at John F. Kennedy High School where I lettered in football and baseball.

I stayed in Illinois and graduated from Knox College in Galesburg. I worked every summer and during the school year to help pay for my education. After graduating with a B.A. in Liberal Arts I married my high school sweetheart at St. Joseph Church in Summit. Over the years, we’ve lived in Chicago Ridge, Orland Hills, and finally Homer Glen where our three children all grew up and graduated from Lockport Township High School.

I’ve worked in sales my entire career, the majority of the time selling office furniture.  After serving the community in many different ways – soccer coach, President of the LTHS Foundation, Church Finance Committee, High School Booster Club President – I was elected to the Will County Board six years ago in District 7, which includes Homer Glen, Lockport, and New Lenox.

I’m currently the Minority Leader on the County Board. For four years, I served as Committee Chair for the Finance Committee and as Vice Chair on the Capital Improvement Committee. During that time we crafted the Building Will Plan – an initiative to finance a group of county buildings all without raising taxes. We started and completed our Public Safety Complex and are currently building a 370,000 sq. ft. County Court House, a 70,000 sq. ft. Health Department, and a new EMA and Animal Control building. We accomplished our plan!

We need to move this country forward while keeping alive the spirit that made this country great: hard work and keeping the government out of your pocket so you can achieve the American Dream. Our government’s job is to keep our citizens safe and eliminate barriers to achieving that American Dream. Not to impose onerous taxes on them at every turn.

In Congress, I will fight for the everyday citizens in the 3rd Congressional District of Illinois. It’s time for this district to have a fresh, bold, forward-thinking conservative voice in Washington. A voice that represents the interest of the citizens that it was elected to serve. Not a voice that acts only in it’s self-interest.

Vote Fricilone in the Republican primary on March 17th, and in the general election on November 3rd. Thank you and GodBless
