Christian Acosta (FL-21) A longtime Floridian with a background in nuclear engineering and management, Christian Acosta is an experienced problem solver passionate about bringing people together to get real results for south Florida. Christian was born into a military family stationed overseas while his father served with the U.S. Air Force in England and in Spain. While young, Christian developed a keen interest in the sciences. Later he decided to pursue advanced degrees in Nuclear Engineering and Management at the University of Florida. After graduating, Christian moved to Pittsburgh to work as an engineer for Westinghouse Electric Company. While at Westinghouse, he worked with international and multidisciplinary teams in the United States and abroad to successfully design, build, and install multi-million dollar technical solutions for clients. His fluency in Spanish and English allowed him to lead teams in Spain and Mexico. With 12 years of engineering experience Christian returned to Florida to become and adjunct professor at Palm Beach State College.
