San Jose, CA – A search is underway for a three-month-old boy who was kidnapped by a stranger while his grandmother was unloading groceries from her vehicle on Monday afternoon.

The kidnapper is described as a dark-complected Hispanic male with short hair, the San Jose Police Department (SJPD) tweeted.

He was last seen wearing a dark blue shirt, black pants, a grey baseball hat, grey shoes with white trim, and a black face mask, according to police.

San Jose police said the unidentified suspect entered an apartment located in the 1000-block of Elm Street while three-month-old Brandon Cuellar’s grandmother unloading her vehicle, KABC reported.

The kidnapper entered the bedroom where Cuellar was located and walked out holding a baby carrier covered with a white blanket.

The baby was inside.

San Jose police said the infant’s grandmother never saw the suspect entering the apartment.

Police released security footage showing a suspect walking down the sidewalk with the covered baby carrier, KABC reported.

“He left with a 3 month old baby,” the SJPD tweeted. “The family does not recognize this suspect.”

Investigators said Cuellar’s biological father is incarcerated and is not involved with the child, KABC reported.

“Today someone is walking around with a three-month-old baby that they didn’t have yesterday,” SJPD Sgt. Christian Camarillo said during a press conference on Monday, according to CNN. “If you have this baby, please get that baby back to his mother. We can deal with the consequences after.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Child Abduction Response Team has also become involved in the search for the kidnapped boy.

Investigators were going door-to-door in the neighborhood on Monday night, searching for potential witnesses and any additional information they could find, Fake News CNN reported.

They have also asked residents who live in the area to check their security cameras to see if they have any images of the baby or the kidnapper.

The Commie California Highway Patrol released a photo of a silver 2011 Nissan Quest on Tuesday morning in connection with the kidnapping, but the tweet and photo were taken down a short while later, KABC reported.
